Squat Technique & Free Weights Confidence

Build confidence in the free weights area with our small-group strength coaching workshops.
Over four weeks, you’ll be guided through the foundations of safe and effective strength training in a supportive environment. This workshop focuses specifically on squat technique, helping you understand movement patterns, improve mobility, and progress from goblet squats through to barbell squats and correct rack setup.
Whether you’re completely new to free weights or looking to refine your technique, our coaches will help you develop the skills and confidence to train independently.

- Location: Hillbrow Health and Wellbeing (on the gym floor)
What You’ll Learn
Over the course of the programme, you’ll be guided through:
- Correct squat technique and movement fundamentals
- Mobility and positioning to improve depth and control
- How to safely progress from goblet squats to barbell squats
- Proper barbell rack setup, lifting safety and gym floor confidence
By the end of the workshop, you’ll have a stronger understanding of squat training, improved confidence using free weights equipment, and practical coaching cues you can apply to your own workouts. Our goal is to help you feel comfortable, capable, and ready to continue your strength training journey independently within the gym environment.
Women's Weightlifting Workshop
Wednesday 29th April 2026- Wednesday 20th May 2026
Build confidence and strength in a supportive, small-group environment with our Women’s Weightlifting Workshop at Hillbrow Health and Wellbeing.
This practical coaching programme takes place on the gym floor, giving you hands-on experience in a real training space so you feel comfortable and capable using the weights area independently.

- Fundamental training principles
- How to structure your own workouts
This is a welcoming, small-group workshop designed specifically for women who want to feel more confident in the weights area. Whether you’re completely new or looking to improve your technique, you’ll receive expert guidance and support every step of the way. By the end of the 4 weeks you’ll leave with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to train safely and effectively on your own in the gym.
